Huntingdonshire FA Awarded Equality Standard for Sport
Huntingdonshire FA is delighted to announce that we have been awarded the Foundation Level of the Equality Standard for sport.
The National Standard for Equality is a nationally recognised framework that assists County Football Associations with embedding equality at the highest level of their organisation, and communicating and sharing that commitment with its staff and partners. It also provides a framework to review how a CFA is organised around equality in relation to its service delivery, workforce, policies, procedures and legal compliance against the backdrop of The FA's National Game Strategy.
Mark Ives, Huntingdonshire FA Company Secretary commented: "I would like to thank all of the staff and volunteers at Huntingdonshire FA for their time, effort and dedication put into gaining this accreditation, in particular our Football Development Officer (Disability) Sarah Hudson for her time on this project."
"The independent assessment report noted that there is a clear commitment across Huntingdonshire FA to ensure diversity and equality are embedded across it’s activities on and off the pitch. Much of the CFAs activity has been informed by its equality monitoring, and staff and Board have been well briefed on the county’s commitment and everyone’s responsibility within this."
Sarah Hudson, Football Development Officer (Disability) at Huntingdonshire FA commented: "I'm delighted for our whole team to have gained this standard. It allows us to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to providing football for anyone who wishes to participate, working toward our vision of uniting Huntingdonshire to improve the Football experience."
Huntingdonshire FA have made a commitment to achieve the Preliminary Level of the Equality Standard before 2024 and work is already underway to achieve this.
