Walking Football

Walking Football

Slower game tailored to suit need of participants.

FOOTBALL TAILORED TO SUIT ANY AGE AND ABILITY

Played indoors or outdoors.

Huntingdonshire FA is committed to the development and growth of Walking Football in the County, and we have been helping new clubs start up across Huntingdonshire with either funding support or advice from members of our development team.

The sport is continuing to grow and develop and alongside the popular demand for recreational walking football, we’re now recognising the increased demand for a competitive element to this slower-paced version of the beautiful game. Hunts FA is currently developing ways in which to support the growth of the competitive game.

So, whether you’re looking for a social kick about or to find your old competitive edge, in Huntingdonshire we have something to suit you.

About the Game

The game, a slower paced version of the sport which is accessible to all regardless of age, health and ability, has experienced a strong organic growth in recent years and has acted as the catalyst in attracting many people back into football due to its various health and fitness benefits and a strong sense of fun and enjoyment.

I’ve liked football forever but finished playing when I was 27; the threat of injury put me off but I’ve always wanted to try and get back into it. Walking football came up and it’s a great way to do just that. I initially thought I’d look silly but then I came to the session and enjoyed it so much, the atmosphere is superb!
