"A recent trip to Ghana gave me an eye-opening experience that challenged me to make a difference in the lives of young and talented children who by virtue of their poor backgrounds are not able to realise their full potential.

Being an enthusiast of sports and especially football, I took several trips to the parks and football fields to watch local teams play. I realised the kids are in dire needs of football kits and accessories. Some were playing in flip-flops and others, just barefoot. In certain cases, there were no bibs to differentiate the teams and they had to remember who was on their side and who was not by face and name alone. At best, jerseys were sometimes available to some of the team but matching items in the kit were missing.

I am humbly appealing to all parents, team coaches and others in a position to be able to help to please donate redundant kits, footballs, socks, shin pad/guards, boots, accessories, etc.... to help support under-privileged communities in Ghana. All collected items will be shipped to Ghana for distribution to schools and local children’s teams.

As a father of two boys who play for St Ives Rangers teams we have already made a great start by simply getting coaches to go through their old kit bags/garages/sheds to dig out any old unused items. Coaches, managers and all in a position to donate please take the time to look yourself and pass this on to anyone else who may be able to help".
