Funding for Clubs

Sportivate Funding

Sportivate funding runs yearly and the first window for year 6 funding applications is now open until Friday January 29th 2016.

Sportivate is a £56 million Lottery funded London 2012 legacy project that provides funding for clubs and organisations to provide more opportunities for young people aged 11 to 25 years to take part in sport and physical activity.

Guidance notes, an application form and further information about the programme are available on our the Living Sport website - Click Here to view and under documents.

The programme will fund six to eight weeks of free or subsidised coaching at your club or organisation which targets inactive 11-25 year-olds. The funding will also cover facility hire, coaching costs, equipment, marketing and other costs associated with running the activity.

During the six to eight week project based at your club, those taking part can work towards an event or personal challenge. The ultimate aim is that participants will attend at least 5 of the 6, 6 of the 7 or 7 of the 8 sessions, and when the free or low-cost coaching ends they will be supported to continue playing sport through a community exit route.

A key priority for the Sportivate programme is that all participants should be inactive – those young people who, when registering with Sportivate state that they are not participating in sport once per week, however Living Sport will also be giving priority to projects which are focussed on the following in Year 6:

  • Women and Girls
  • Young people aged 17-25 years
  • Disabled young people
  • In the Fenland district

For Year 6, priority will also be given, where relevant, to clubs who have been involved with our Your Club Matters Programme - Click Here to view or those who have undertaken a Living Sport Club Audit (to find out more about club audits please contact Living Sport on 01487 841559).
