County Cups Update
Various Rules have been changed for the new season, listed below are breif details of the rule changes.
Copies of the Rules can be found under the “Related Documents” section on the right hand side of this page. In all cases the rules give a full description of the changes, the list below is just a simple guide to the changes and MUST NOT be used as the competition Rules.
Entry Criteria
As you will have seen from the Affiliation Forms / Cup Entry Forms - The Scott Gatty Cup has been designated the "County Intermediate Cup"
Cup Entry is now as follows:-
Senior Cup - Teams from the United Counties League, Eastern Counties League, Peterborough League Premier Division and the Cambridgeshire League Premier Division.
Scott Gatty Intermediate Cup - UCL & ECL Reserve Divisions, Peterborough League Div 1, Cambridgeshsire League Senior A & B
Junior Cup - Peterborough League Divisions 1 & 2, Cambridgeshire League Divisions 1 & 2
Lower Junior Cup - Peterborough League Res Divisions 2 & 3 Cambridgeshire League Divisions 3, 4 & 5
Sunday Cup - All Sunday Adult Male teams will now enter the Sunday Cup.
Sunday Benevolent Cup - Entry is for teams who are eliminated from the Preliminary Round and Round 1 of the Sunday Cup.
Club Colours
If both teams play in the same colours, it shall now be for the AWAY team to change.
Goalkeepers are required to wear shirts that distinguish themselves from other players and the match officials. As such goalkeepers must not wear a black jersey or predominantly black jersey.
Players shirts must be clearly numbered in accordance with the list handed to the match referee prior to the match.
Player Registration
Clubs are no longer required to register their players with the County prior to a County Cup Match, the rules have been changed in all rounds of a competition a player shall be a “Registered Player” of his club.
A “Registered Player” in essence is one who is duly registered with the League in which the club competes.
Date of Play
For clubs who have floodlights, all Saturday matches will kick off at 3.00pm. There is no longer the need to request a change to the scheduled kick off time.
However, clubs requesting a change to kick off time (excepting the above) must submit such request to the County Secretary in writing no later than 7 days prior to the scheduled date for the match. Any such request must be made first having received the agreement of the opponents.
Notice of Result
In the event of a match not played or started but not completed, both clubs shall telephone such details to the County Cup Results Line no later than two hours after the match was called off or ended, and MUST send a written report to the County Secretary to reach him no later than 72 hours after the time fixed for the match.
Technical Area
Technical Area rules have been changed to state how many persons and specifically which persons are permitted to be in the Technical Area. In addition who may stand and when.
