Join The FA Licensed Coaches' Club and raise the standards for your players.

What is ''Coaching Licensing''?

The FA wants to improve the quality of coaching in England. Therefore in August 2011 The FA Licensed Coaches' Club replaces the disbanded 'The FA Coaches Association' (FACA)

Coaching Licensing ensures that coaches' qualifications are up to date and that they are continuously training every year through various Continuation Professional Development (CPD) opportunities. They will also receive other benefits to help them become better coaches.

Why should coaches become Licensed?

In an ever changing game, it's no longer really enough for coaches to have completed a course once in the past and then not keep up to date with evolving coaching techniques and methodologies.

Coaches can join from just £12 and will receive:

  • An FA photo ID Licence to coach
  • Access to a members only coaching website
  • Discounts on courses
  • Ballot entry for free England tickets
  • Access to accredited County FA (Hunts FA) training events

Additional options to purchase:

  • Civil liability and personal accident insurance
  • A subscription to The FA's new coaching magazine
  • Branded merchandise
  • Physiotherapy insurance

Who can join The FA Licensed Coaches' Club?

The minimum criteria to join is:

  • A minimum Level One Certificate in Coaching Football
  • An in date FA Safeguarding Children Certificate
  • An in date FA/HSE Emergency Aid Certificate
  • Coaches working with under 18s will need to complete a FA CRB check

How much CPD do Licensed coaches need to do each year?

  • Level One - 3 hours
  • Level Two - 5 hours
  • Level Three - 5 hours
  • Level Four - 5 hours
  • Level Five - 5 hours

The minimum hours are in line with UEFA's regulations and can be made up in various ways for example:

  • Taking further qualifications
  • Completing an online course
  • Attending a local County FA (Hunts FA) Coaches Association Event or Charter Standard Clubs Event
  • A full breakdown of CPD can be found on The FA Licensed Coaches' Club website.
