The FA Goalkeeping Coaching Award is a Level One Course introduced as the latest qualification in the Goalkeeping Coaching Education structure.
How many teams provide specific coaching for their goalkeepers? Do keepers get a fair chance to play their best if they are not being coached keeping skills?
Why not give your goalkeepers an edge over the others in the league by having a specific goalkeeping coach to concentrate on the keepers at your club. On passing this course your goalkeeping coach will be equipped to:
- Coach basic individual techniques
- Understand how to develop and improve the Goalkeepers’ technique
- Plan and prepare progressive technical practices
- Maintain health and safety of the players and other coaches
- Maintain the high standards of conduct to promote Association Football
COURSE FORMAT
The Practical aspect of the Course will be run over 3 days, from 9am to 5pm. You must attend all three sessions of the course to qualify for the Assessment. The course is delivered by goalkeeping tutors appointed directly by the FA. A Qualified physiotherapist is present at all the practical sessions. The Course will be completed within a four week period.
*Pre-course requirements
- Candidate must hold a valid Emergency First Aid Certificate (FA, St John’s or HSE approved)**
- Safeguarding Children Certificate (FA CP)**
The following are online courses which we will advise you how to complete when confirming the course booking:

- Football Administration
- Laws of the game
** Candidates who currently hold these qualifications will be required to produce their original certificates to be accredited prior to certification. Candidates who do not yet hold these certificates should book these FA courses prior to starting the Level One Goalkeeping award. These are separate courses and are not included in the cost of the goalkeeping course

We will then send a receipt to the candidate to confirm the booking. Nearer the start of the course they will be sent a confirmation letter with detailed instructions, dates and times along with directions/map to the venue(s).
