The knowledge gained will enable candidates to develop a basic understanding of safe, ethical and effective coaching for young people. The Level 1 qualifies the candidate to work with grass roots club teams of children and young people aged 6 – 10 years. It is a stepping stone to other vocationally related areas in football including coaching, administration, officiating and sports therapy.
Coaching football, whether in an employed or voluntary capacity, is a rewarding and responsible role. This course is the first step on the ladder to gain further qualifications such as the Level 2 and Level 3 Coaching Certificates.
Candidates MUST be 16 or over by the previous September 1st prior to the start of the course.
Qualification Objectives:
On successful completion of the Level 1, candidates should be able to :
- Demonstrate an ability to safely organise and supervise football activities, including Mini Soccer, small- sided and conditioned games
- Promote and establish working relationships and high standards of behavior with players, coaches, parents and officials in the overall development of Football
- Demonstrate an understanding of related aspects of coaching children’s football including:
o Coach and player development
o Good practice in club management and coaching
o Health and safety
o Football club administration
o Working with parents, attitudes and ethics
o Basic Laws of the Game
o Emergency Aid
o Child Protection

Course Fee: £110 (Non British National £190)
Concessionary Fee: £100 CS Bursary available
Places cannot be confirmed without the receipt of a booking form AND deposit.

Notes
For all courses, attendance is required for all elements. If you already hold a recognised Emergency First Aid or FA Child Protection certificate these elements can be omitted and your attendance is not required. Please supply copy of certificates.
You are only required to attend one of the two scheduled Emergency Aid Dates, please state your preferred date on the booking form and we will endeavor to give you that date subject to availability.
